PA: House Bill 1811, was introduced September 6, 2019, in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. The Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Health and Safety Act would establish regulations and licensure for medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals and a board of examiners to institute requirements and develop standards. Rep. Ted Nesbit, of Grove City, is the bill’s sponsor.

The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging , the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the Pennsylvania Society of Radiologic Technologists, the Philadelphia Society of Radiologic Technologists, American Society Radiologic Technologists, and the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, support the proposal and urge all medical imaging technologists in the state to contact their legislators and ask for their support. House Bill 1811 is essential for our profession and our patients.

SNMMI: The SNMMI is planning to hold its annual Capitol Hill fly-in on October 22, 2019, to advocate H.R. 3772, the Medicare Diagnostic Radiopharmaceutical Payment Equity Act of 2019.
